In this video, we will give you a basic rundown of the different types of scooter handlebars available, as well as important fitment information to ensure that your new parts will be compatible with your scooter.

Steel Handlebars

Pros: High strength, reasonable cost
Cons: Heavier than aluminum and titanium bars

Compatibility:

  • IHC Compression: use standard steel bars and clamp, with a slit
  • HIC Compression: use oversized steel bars and clamp, with a slit
  • SCS Compression: match bar size to SCS size, without a slit

Aluminum Handlebars

Pros: Light weight, reasonable cost
Cons: Not as strong as steel or titanium handlebars

Compatibility:

  • IHC Compression: direct fit, with a slit, oversized clamp
  • HIC Compression: not compatible
  • SCS Compression: match bar size to SCS size, without a slit

Titanium Handlebars

Pros: Light weight, high strength
Cons: More expensive than aluminum or steel handlebars

Compatibility:

  • IHC Compression: use adapter shim and oversized clamp, with a slit
  • HIC Compression: direct fit, with a slit, oversized clamp
  • SCS Compression: match bar size to SCS size, without a slit
